Novosibirsk is a modern city, its history is relatively short - a little over a hundred years. In this city there are no temples with a long history. The first built churches have practically not survived, because most of them were wooden. However, tourists note that the temples of Novosibirsk are distinguished by their scope, youth, speed of construction. They are expressive and perfectly complement the visual image of the city.
Historical buildings are popular with tourists - the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the Ascension Cathedral. They are practically the same age as the city. The Trinity Cathedral is also called the visiting card of the city. He is often depicted on memorable postcards in Novosibirsk. Another symbol is the chapel of St. Nicholas. It got its name in honor of the patron saint of the city - Emperor Nicholas II, because until 1926 Novosibirsk was called Novo-Nikolaevsk.
