The first monuments that have survived to this day were erected in the capital of Chuvashia in the 50-60s of the last century. Lenin, V. Chapaev, K. Ivanov, I. Yakovlev. Today these are objects of cultural heritage protected by the state. The next wave of construction of monuments in Cheboksary came in the 80s. The space theme was realized, monuments-machines appeared - a tractor, a trolleybus, a tank, and at that time the most significant memorial ensemble dedicated to the heroes of the Second World War was created - the monument of Military Glory.

"Mother Patroness"
One of the main symbols of the capital of Chuvashia. It was installed in 2003 on the coast of the Cheboksary Bay. The idea of the project belonged to the first president of the republic N. Fedorov. The famous sculptor V. Nagornov brought it to life. The figure of a woman in a national costume with arms outstretched to the sides symbolizes the revival of basic spiritual values and promises protection of the land and the entire people. In its height - 46 meters - the monument surpasses all the monuments installed in Cheboksary.
Monument of Military Glory
The main sculptural composition on the territory of the Cheboksary memorial park. It was installed in 1980 on the high Volga bank, on the top of a bulk mound. Depicts a young soldier taking an oath to the Motherland against the background of a banner, and a woman-mother blessing him. The authors of the project were A. Shcherbakov and G. Zakharov. The monument was cast in Leningrad and has a height of 16.5 meters. Below, at the very foot of the hill, the Eternal Flame is lit.
Monument to V.I.Chapaev
The opening of the sculptural composition depicting the hero of the Civil War on horseback and with a saber in his hand took place in 1960. Initially, the sculpture was made of concrete and was located near the plant. Chapaeva. During the restoration, in 1984, it was cast in bronze and subsequently placed on the territory of the park of the same name. The monument is erected on a 10-meter granite pedestal with bas-reliefs. Monument to I. Ya. Yakovlev
Thanks to the works of the enlightener I. Yakovlev, the people of Chuvashia acquired their own written language. The talented scientist compiled the Chuvash alphabet using the Russian Cyrillic alphabet, and in 1871 the very first primer was published. The monument to I. Yakovlev is installed on a large granite slab near the National Library, on Lenin Avenue. The opening took place in 1970. The authors were D. Naroditsky and G. Saevich. Monument to Academician V.V. Nikolaev
The opening of the monument took place on Yaroslavskaya Street in 2010. The author is the artist A. Charkin. Vasily Nikolaev is a prominent scientist, honored worker of the gas and oil industry, author of numerous scientific works and 35 inventions. In addition, he was engaged in the study of the history and traditions of the Chuvash nation, provided great assistance in the improvement of the Chuvash villages, publishing books, organizing the activities of national cultural centers.
Monument to A.G. Nikolaev
In Cheboksary, there are two monuments to the native of Chuvashia, one of the first cosmonauts in the world, the legendary "Chuvash Sokol". One of them was opened in 1987 in honor of the 25th anniversary of Andrian Nikolaev's flight into space. The second, full-length monument made of granite and bronze, was installed in 2011 for the birthday of the famous cosmonaut. It is noteworthy that both sculptural compositions are located on the street named after A. Nikolaev.
Monument to V. Lenin
The main monument to the legendary leader of the revolution was erected on the central square of the Republic, the former Lenin Square, surrounded by administrative buildings. This is the first monumental monument in the Chuvash Republic. It was opened in 1960. Nowadays it is an object of cultural heritage. A group of Leningrad sculptors and architects worked on its creation. Lenin is depicted in motion, walking towards the people. This was a new interpretation of the image of Ilyich in Soviet monumentalism.
Monument to Yu.A. Gagarin
Installed in the city center, at the beginning of the street of the same name. The opening date of the monument is 1976, April 12. The authors of the project were B. Shimarev and G. Postnikov. The figure of the first cosmonaut, dressed in a spacesuit, is made of aluminum and erected on a black granite pedestal, to which several steps lead. The freestanding slab, behind the sculpture, is engraved with a commemorative inscription from the artist-creators. There is a small park nearby.
"Ostap Bender and Kisa Vorobyaninov"
An inseparable couple of adventurers from the work of Ilf and Petrov can be seen on K. Efremov Boulevard, the main pedestrian street in Cheboksary. A cute sculptural composition was installed here in 2012. The sculptor is V. Nagornov. The tablet, which Ostap holds in his hand, is engraved with a quote from "12 chairs", which mentions the city of Cheboksary. Monument to A. N. Krylov
A prominent Russian scientist, shipbuilding engineer, general of the fleet - a native of the Chuvash land. World fame at the end of the 19th century was brought to him by a comprehensive work called "The theory of ship pitching." The idea of creating a monument to the famous compatriot belonged to the society of shipbuilders of Russia, named after A. Krylov. The author was the Honored Artist of Russia S. Shcherbakov. The sculpture was installed on the territory of the river port in 2015.
Monument to Nikola Tesla
The monument to the genius scientist-inventor, who became famous for his research in the field of physics, radio engineering, electrical engineering, is installed on I. Yakovlev Avenue. There is a research institute for relay construction nearby. The opening of the monument took place in 2015. The initiator and main sponsor of its installation was the ABS Electro Association. Monument to St. Guriy
Located on the territory of the Holy Trinity Monastery. The opening took place in 2015. The sculptor is A. Gogaev. 460 years ago, Archbishop Gury blessed the area for the construction of a fortress, a cathedral church and a male monastery. Therefore, he is revered as the spiritual founder of Cheboksary and the enlightener of the entire Chuvash region. Monument to Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom
The magnificent sculptural composition has adorned the city center since 2016. Installed on a small square near the Holy Trinity Monastery. Monument to Academician G. Volkov
It was opened in 2015 on Lenin Avenue, in the park of the same name. This place was not chosen by chance - the scientist lived here. Doctor of Sciences G. Volkov is known, first of all, for being the founder of the science of ethnopedagogy. The monument is a bronze figure of a scientist with the size of 1.5 natural growth. "Symbols of wisdom - Chuvash runes"
The creation of such a monument was initiated by B&N Bank. The entertaining sculpture is a 2x3 meter slab, on which 53 signs are deciphered - symbols of the ancient Chuvash pattern. This language is unique and almost forgotten today. Signatures under the symbols are indicated in Russian and Chuvash. The stone for the monument weighing 7 tons was cut out of a granite rock in the territory of Karelia. Installed in 2008 on Red Square.
Monument to police officers
The opening of a memorial sign to the deceased employees of internal organs took place in 2000. They installed it in the Public Garden of the defenders of law and order, near the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Chuvashia. The impressive 9-meter high monument is made of granite. In the center - a copper shield and a sword, symbols of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Most of the funds for the production of the monument were collected by the police themselves. Monument to a nursing mother

Planet of the Little Prince
A new interesting art object appeared on the boulevard of merchant Efremov in 2018. Dedicated to the most famous work of A. de Saint-Exupery. A. Sokolova was the project designer. The sculptor is D. Sokolov. On a large, circular planet, set on a pedestal, is a small figure of the Prince. Before him is a beautiful openwork rose. Monument to the unity of peoples and cultures
It was installed in 2008 on M. Gorky Avenue. It has one more name - "Rose of the World". The author is the artist V. Zotikov. In the center of the composition are the figures of seven girls raising a bowl in the form of a lotus flower to the sky. Its petals are the 7 main religions of the world. The pedestal is engraved with sayings about love, peace, unity and faith in goodness. The main idea of the sculpture is to unite people of different faiths. Bust of Catherine II the Great
In 2016, the city of Cheboksary took part in an all-Russian project, the organizers of which installed busts of famous personalities. Residents of the city voted for the monument to the great empress. In 1767, traveling with a flotilla along the Volga, Catherine visited Cheboksary and admired its picturesque views. 15 years later, she approved the city coat of arms. The bust of Catherine the Great was installed in the capital of Chuvashia in 2017. The eponymous square was built around the bust.
Monument to K. Ivanov
Installed on Red Square, near the building of the drama theater, which bears the name of the poet. The opening took place in 1995. The authors of the monument are V. Nagornov and V. Filatov. K. Ivanov in Chuvashia is considered the founder of national literature. He translated for his compatriots the works of many Russian poets, and his poem "Narspi" is the pride and great heritage of the Chuvash people. The pedestal on which the figure of the poet is installed is decorated with scenes from the famous poem.
Monument to Soldiers Internationalists
On the territory of Victory Park, a memorial composition has been installed in memory of the soldiers who died during the hostilities in Afghanistan. Black marble slabs are fixed on the red steles, where the names of those who gave their lives outside the homeland are listed. The opening of the monument took place in 2004. Nearby there are memorials in memory of compatriots who died in 2 Chechen wars and in local conflicts in the North Caucasus.
"Mechanical Engineer of Russia"
The sculpture depicting a mechanical worker has more than half a century of history. It was opened in 1964 in the courtyard of the Aggregate Plant, near the steelmaking shop. The monument was erected in honor of the first steel melting for spare parts for the DT-54 tractor. The sculpture was made by factory craftsmen according to the project of the artist V. Ulykina. In 2008, the "machine builder" changed its location, it was moved to the square near the main entrance of the enterprise.
Stele OZhDH "Creator"
The opening of the original composition took place in 2012 on the territory of the Sozidatel company. The author is the honored artist V. Nemtsev. The stele, decorated with a national ornament, was made by employees of the railway economy. At its base, on a brick pedestal, there is a figure of a slinger worker who greets passers-by. The stele is surrounded by models of various freight cars and a fragment of the Komsomol of Chuvashia armored train that took part in the battles of the Second World War.
Bust of Mikhail Sespel
The monument to the famous Chuvash poet, who lived at the beginning of the last century and left a bright mark in the history of Chuvash literature, is installed on Lenin Avenue, in the park of the same name. His name is known not only in his homeland, the poems of the talented poet have been translated and sound in 55 languages of the world. The opening of the monument to M. Sespel took place in 1989. Mayraslov and N. Krasnov. The bust of the poet is installed on a 3-meter pedestal.
Monument to Gleb Ilyenko
A bronze monument to the legendary first director of the Elara instrument-making plant was erected at the entrance of the enterprise. For 36 years, starting from the first stages of construction, G. Ilyenko was in charge of the plant and made it a leader in the aviation instrument-making industry throughout the country. The grand opening of the monument took place in 2008. Today the Elara plant bears the name of G. Ilyenko, and also one of the streets of Cheboksary is named in his honor.
"Rose of Love"
A touching sculpture with this name is installed on Traktorostroiteley Avenue, in the courtyard of one of the city's perinatal centers. The author is a famous sculptor in Cheboksary V. The opening took place in 2013. Although the monument is called the "rose of love", in fact it depicts an open head of cabbage, from which a newborn baby peeps out. The people gave him the name Vanya, and a tag with the parameters of weight and height is fixed on the baby's hand.
"Guardian Angel on the Cloud"
The original sculpture was installed on the street. Gladkov in front of one of the buildings of the Republican Oncological Dispensary. The official opening of the hospital building and the monument on its territory took place in 2016 with the participation of the Minister of Health of Russia. The author of the project was V. Nagornov, his idea was embodied in bronze by the sculptor O. Tskhurbaev. The commemorative composition represents a charming angel riding on a cloud.
Monument to the first serial tractor
Located at the traffic circle of Traktorostroiteley Avenue. The opening took place in 1980. The monument is, in fact, the T-330 tractor itself, mounted on a small pedestal. Since 1974, the largest enterprise in the country for the production of industrial tractors has been operating in Cheboksary. Parts for the first serial tractor began to be produced at the plant in 1975. The power of the T-330 is 300 horsepower. It is the prototype of the modern Chetra tractors.
Stone "Taganait"
A symbol of kindness, love, sun and happiness. This is a Taganaite stone. Three huge boulders were brought to Cheboksary in 2000 from the Chelyabinsk region, from the Taganai ridge, located in the South Urals. They were installed on Kupets Efremov Boulevard, which is called the local Arbat in the city. This is a gift to the townspeople from the first president of the republic N. Fedorov. According to legend, whoever strokes a large stone will certainly be lucky.
