We highly recommend visiting South Korea at least once! Find out what this country is good for.
Discovery of the year!
Love at first sight!
South Korea ♥
When you travel a lot, change country after country, it is difficult to be surprised and impressed. Many countries, especially of one region, are very similar in lifestyle, architecture, nature, urban space, food. Therefore, when you find something really new, you are very happy.
And now South Korea has become a long-awaited discovery for us. Here is Asia so beloved by us, but special.
Why I fell in love with Korea
1) Climate. Warm, but not as unbearably hot and humid as in Southeast Asia. Still, it is difficult for us, northerners, to adapt to a tropical climate. The bright sun is cool, but try to walk in such heat - forces evaporate as quickly as moisture from the body.
2) Comfort in everything, cleanliness, absence of unpleasant odors and cacophony from beeping and roaring of mopeds. A real joy after the noisy and unkempt South Asia!
3) Nice, sweet, modest, unobtrusive people. They don’t push around here, don’t go out of line and don’t tug at your sleeve with an appeal to buy some junk.
4) A sea of delicious and new food! The gourmet has a lot to roam here: unique cuisine, unexpected combinations, cafes and food stalls at every turn, an abundance of seafood, good coffee, huge portions, and not so spicy dishes here.
And below I will tell you separately about the capital of South Korea.
Why I loved Seoul
Ideal.
I only have this word to describe Seoul.
A wonderful city in which you want to live! I never cease to wonder how such a huge metropolis and the center of business life can be so cozy, quiet and calm. Wonders!
So this is what this city is like.
The population is 10 million people, which is almost 20% of the country's population. It forms the Seoul-Incheon metropolitan area with a population of 23.5 million, the fourth largest in the world. Can you imagine what kind of anthill we are talking about? After reading these facts, you picture in your imagination a noisy gas-polluted city with endless traffic jams and crowds in the streets. But in reality, this is not so.
I don't know where all the residents are, but the streets of the city are half empty. Yes, at lunchtime, white collars fall out of offices into cafes and eateries, and after work they have fun drinking in bars and restaurants. But these phenomena are temporary and local, the rest of the time everything is calm.
✅ Seoul is pleasant because here:
★ No exhaust fumes.
★ No noise.
★ No hustle, bustle and crush on the streets. Koreans live in a calm and measured rhythm - well done!
★ No traffic jams. There are small traffic jams at the intersections during rush hour, but this is nonsense. Even in Perm (1 million inhabitants), things are much worse than 23 times the larger Seoul.
★ No awful souvenir shops full of magnets and other junk.
★ Not a single antisocial element was seen on the streets of Seoul.
★ Nice people.
✅ Seoul is comfortable because here:
★ Thoughtful and comfortable urban space, many cool places to relax.
★ Perfect tiles on sidewalks, many pedestrian crossings, which sometimes even have large umbrellas to protect from rain and sun, bike paths, no lurid advertising - in general, paradise for Ilya Varlamov.
★ Delicious food at every corner. Food prices →
★ Perfect work of public transport. Even at rush hour, I did not see a single bus where passengers would have to stand.
★ Clean and no unpleasant odors.
★ Lots of toilets.
In general, Korea is a pleasant and interesting country. I highly recommend visiting!
