Thousands of people come to the Dzhily-Su tract at an altitude of 2400 meters in the mountains of Kabardino-Balkaria. But there are no sanatoriums or doctors here. But there is faith! Belief in the healing properties of local sources.

In Jily-Su you will find narzans for almost all diseases: gastrointestinal tract, liver, kidneys, eyes - drink, wash, do not hurt! Tired of drinking - you can swim in the springs: for this there is a special pool, which is filled with narzan every day. The water is warm, 21-23 degrees. After bathing, in the evenings, it is customary to take a gas bath. Six or seven men go down into the pit, stand still and bask in the gas coming out of the ground. What kind of gas it is, no one really knows, more precisely, everyone has his own opinion: who considers it to be radon, who as hydrogen sulfide, who simply as carbon dioxide. Science and official medicine have not yet reached these places.

I love Jili-Su. I don't know if the local waters really contain an amazing healing power, but even one or two days here is enough for me to recharge my batteries. Delicious narzan, water treatments, gas baths, walks in the mountains - all this strengthens the body and improves well-being.

My favorite wellness procedure on Dzhily-Su is swimming in the Silver Spring. The water is slightly above zero degrees, straight from the Elbrus glaciers. That's what I understand - invigorates! It is believed that you will not get sick for a whole year if you plunge headlong into the font three times. Personally, I got into the habit of plunging into the icy water of the spring seven times at once. Only after the second dive do you lose the ability to breathe and continue swimming in a semi-conscious state, but you go ashore as a completely different person.

And this time on Dzhily-Su we found another treasure - endless thickets of lingonberries. Also useful!

In summer, up to 3,000 people rest on Dzhily-Su at once, plus one-day tourists are brought by buses from Kislovodsk - a real Babylonian pandemonium. We don't like pushing, so we come to the tract in early October. There are few people at this time, there are hardly 30-40 people. But it is cold: icy winds, freezing temperatures and snow at night.

Accommodation in Jily-Su spartan simple and austere. Accommodation to choose from: a trailer for 4-6 people, its own tent or a car interior. On our first trip, we slept in the car - it was very cold, hurricane winds blow here and even a two-ton SUV sways like a cane in the wind. This year we checked into a trailer, quite new, clean and, most importantly, warm! However, a sleeping bag at zero degrees is still needed. Recently, Dzhily-Su has been able to perfectly catch mobile communications and even load the Internet. True, it upset me a little - I come here to drop out of the networks of civilization for at least a few days, the Internet is superfluous here.

How to get to Jily-Su... Distance from Kislovodsk - 83 km. See the map below. You can safely drive your car, the road will be mastered by any car. Excellent asphalt is laid to the very springs, only at the exit from Kislovodsk the road surface is killed, especially in the area of the village of Industry. I consider the road to the northern Elbrus region one of the most beautiful in the world (and I have visited many places!). Just for the sake of these stunning landscapes, it is worth going to Dzhily-Su by car. The peculiarity of this road is that it runs not only along the bottom of the gorges and along the slopes of the mountains, but also right along the ridges, so the views are mesmerizing. Especially impressive is the handsome Elbrus, proudly towering over the other mountains.

You can also buy an excursion from Pyatigorsk: in one day you will be taken to the Dzhily-Su springs by jeep, you will be shown waterfalls, stone mushrooms, the Temple of the Sun, Emmanuel's Glade and the Silver Spring.

I got really hooked on Dzhily-Su and I am sure that I will come here again and again.
